IMPORTANT PRIVACY NOTICE!
MetaCert does not have the ability to read any message content. It can only check links against the MetaCert threat intelligence system.
Existing security products for enterprise don't work on new cloud-based applications like Slack. In the past, you could use traditional hardware and software products to protect information within your internal corporate network. But these existing techniques don't work with Slack, where data has moved to the cloud. Now your team, their data and their devices can be anywhere and outside your security control.
Slack can't react fast enough to protect users from the latest phishing attacks that go online almost every hour of every day. This exposes teams and communities to insider threats, external hacks and regulatory compliance issues going undetected until it's too late.
Myetharwallet.com has just been shared inside Slack. How do you know this really is MyEtherWallet? It looks exactly like the MyEtherWallet website but it's not. It's a phishing website. Its purpose is to empty your wallet of all your cryptocurrency.
The two screen shots below look identical. But they're not.
MetaCert's Security App for Slack protects teams and communities of all sizes by monitoring all messages across public and private channels as well as Direct Messages (DMs). As a customer, you get to choose which type of communication to monitor and protect.
According to the Cryptocurrency world, phishing attacks inside Slack Direct Messages (DMs) is a security nightmare. Token launches and ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) are being targeted by spear-phishing attacks every hour of every day inside Slack.
When a malicious URL is detected, MetaCert automatically deletes the message. It doesn't matter if it's inside a Public Channel, Private Channel or Direct Message.
MetaCert will also immediately send an alert to the Administrator so they are equipped to educate users about their usage, while bad actors can be immediately banned before they can do harm.
As a customer, you get access to an analytics dashboard as part of your subscription package. Some of the analytics we provide are only available on the Slack Premium Plan. We provide analytics that aren't available inside Slack at all.
The searchable archive of every link and every file shared across your Slack accoutnt helps you with regulatory compliance if that's important for you.
MetaCert provides security monitoring for "Malware & Phishing:, "Pornography" and "Fake News". You choose which categories to enable - it's simple to turn them on and off at any time from your personal control panel.
Integration with your Slack workspace is fast and easy. MetaCert's security app for Slack can be installed and deployed in less than 10 seconds. You will derive value immediately.
In less time than it takes to read this paragraph, you can protect hundreds of thousands of users. Since our software works in the cloud, we continuously update it to add new features, without any action needed on your end.
With our cloud-based deployment, users are protected on whatever network or device they use. Hardware based solutions can't offer this same level of protection.
MetaCert is the only company with threat intelligence that works for all your Slack communications.
By actively working with the Cryto world, we identify and classify phishing sites to protect users from becoming victims to phishing attacks.
We help you stay ahead of the attackers with real time updates to our threat intelligence system which tracks known phishing sites.
Our customers range from teams with less than 5 users, up to Fortune 500 companies with thousands of employees.
MetaCert's security integration for Slack is very impressive. We like the fact that it is completely integrated into the service, protecting our network when staff use their own device for work. We also appreciate the protection when inviting outside guests to collaborate inside our Slack service.
Through the Global Entrepreneur Programme, the U.K. Government engages with entrepreneurs around the world. Using Slack as our main communication platform means we need to consider certain security challenges which is why we use MetaCert to keep our channels safe from dangerous links. The analytics dashboard is key for regulatory compliance
MetaCert's willingness to work with us and the Crypto Community to do whatever it takes to protect our supporters from phishing attacks on Slack, is vital in our fight to drive these scammers into the dirt. I'm convinced there's no other solution available to our problem and moving to another messaging/chat platform would come with its own shortcomings and challenges.
MetaCert protects Token launches, ICOs and other Crypto communities by monitoring every message across the community - including DMs. Bad actors are using the Slackbot to send reminders to users by email. MetaCert will warn you the second someone tries to send a phishing email to a member of the community through the Slack reminder system.
Technically, it's impossible to prevent users from sending Slackbot reminders. So the best option is to install MetaCert so you and your community can remain safe from phishing attacks
When you install MetaCert the default setting is set to monitor all public channels. It will also automatically monitor every new channel that's created in the future to ensure all of your users stay protected at all times. You can add or remove channels at any time.
Private channels present a big security risk. By default, all members except for Guests can create a new channel. A private channel and its contents are visible and searchable only to the channel members. Even as an administrator, it's impossible for you to even find out if anyone has created a Private Channel.
MetaCert will monitor all web links shared inside Private Channels, alerting members as soon as a potential attack has been instigated. The MetaCert administrator will also get an immediate notification of any potential security threats - before they turn into a problem
Even though Slack doesn't provide you with any insight to Private Channels, we will. Your personal dashboard will list all the Private Channels.
MetaCert does not have the ability to read any message content. It can only check links against the MetaCert threat intelligence system.
MetaCert silently monitors all links that are shared across all DMs, turning it from one of the most dangerous methods of communication for communities, into one of the safest.
This is a security threat because any member of your team or community can set a reminder for the Slackbot. There is no way for you to restrict this.
If a user clicks on the link inside their email, they are likely to have their personal credentials stolen or malware can be downloaded onto their mobile device or computer. For Cryptocurrency communities, this is how some bad actors manage to steal private keys and then empty wallets in a matter of seconds.
By installing MetaCert, you reduce the risk of your users becoming a victim of an attack. MetaCert will monitor every message sent by the Slackbot. It will alert you to a potential attack in real time. MetaCert will tell you who the attacker is so you can immediately ban them from your Slack. And our security app will also send an alert to your users before they can become a victim.
MetaCert will alert you to URLs that link to Malware & Phishing, Pornography and Fake News.

Yes. MetaCert monitors all of your Private Channels. You can change disable monitoring for Private Channels if you wish.
